GSSA supply coaches that are qualified and experienced in football, street dance, cricket, basketball, trampolining, aerobics, athletics and table tennis to name but a few. Our staff work during the school day, after-school, evenings, weekends and school holidays. With GSSA you will be able to have access to a large pool of coaches and a vast network of contacts that have been built up over the last 10 years. The majority of our coaches have Level 2 qualifications or higher and experience of working with a diverse range of young people from various social, economic and cultural backgrounds. All GSSA staff are police checked.
Development
We believe in giving young people responsibility. During GSSA sessions, our staff aim to create an environment where young people are activated to achieve. GSSA staff work had to create an atmosphere, which allows young people to develop their self-esteem, social skills and confidence. GSSA always endeavours to assist the community in reducing anti-social behaviour.
GSSA recognises the importance of developing individuals from within the community. During the programme, GSSA will assess potential coaches and explore possible training avenues, volunteering opportunities and coach education, which we would tie into the client coach/volunteer education programme. We believe capacity building is funadmental for community projects especially in areas that have high unemployment rates.
Monitoring and Evaluation
GSSA will work with coaches to ensure that the standard of coaching and organisation of the multi-sport and physical activity programs are maintained at the highest level. GSSA will routinely monitor coach attendance, levels of participation and the behaviour of children and young people participating in the coaching programmes. GSSA will work alongside the client to implement the appropriate monitoring and evaluation procedures for the programme.
It is crucial that the programme links into additional services and programmes in the area. GSSA with the assistance from the client will look into developing partnerships and links with the community. Participants who excel and would like to further their skills in the activity provided will be pointed in the right direction. We have links with professional, semi-pro and amateur sports clubs who could further develop an individual ability.
